Job Title: Mechanical Procurement Engineer
Job Summary
A Mechanical Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing mechanical equipment, materials, and services required for engineering and industrial projects. The role ensures cost-effective procurement while maintaining technical quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for mechanical components and equipment
- Source and evaluate suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors
- Review technical specifications, drawings, and project requirements
- Prepare RFQs (Request for Quotations) and compare bids
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers
- Ensure purchased materials meet engineering and quality standards
- Coordinate with project engineers, design teams, and site teams
- Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, and logistics
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or project purchasing
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and materials
- Familiarity with technical drawings and specifications
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/procurement systems
- Strong analytical and communication skills
