Role Overview
A Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers
- Serve dishes and drinks promptly and correctly
- Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and well-maintained
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints or requests professionally
- Clear tables and reset them for the next guests
- Process bills and payments using POS systems
- Follow hygiene, safety, and restaurant service standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality role (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good customer service attitude
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
- Basic math skills for billing and payments
- Teamwork and time management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hotels, cafés, or fine dining restaurants
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS or Square POS
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards
- Multilingual skills (an advantage in tourist areas)
