Role Overview
An Italian Waiter is responsible for providing excellent table service in an Italian restaurant setting. The role involves greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring an authentic and high-quality dining experience centered around Italian cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and present menus upon arrival
- Explain Italian dishes, specials, and ingredients to guests when needed
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen
- Serve dishes such as Pizza, Pasta, antipasti, desserts, and beverages in a timely manner
- Ensure proper table setting, cleanliness, and restaurant presentation
- Monitor guest satisfaction and address requests or complaints promptly
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service flow
- Upsell menu items, specials, and beverages
- Handle billing and payments accurately using POS systems
- Maintain hygiene and follow restaurant service standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or hospitality training (preferred)
- Previous experience as a waiter or in a restaurant service role
- Good knowledge of Italian cuisine and menu items
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Basic math skills for billing and payments
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Italian restaurants or fine dining establishments
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS or Square POS
- Knowledge of wine service and pairing basics (Italian wines preferred)
- Multilingual ability (Italian or English advantage in tourist areas)
