Floor Manager – Job Description
Role Overview
A Floor Manager supervises day-to-day activities on the operational floor (such as retail stores, restaurants, hotels, or event venues). They ensure smooth operations, excellent customer service, and efficient staff coordination during shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily floor operations and ensure smooth workflow
- Supervise staff, assign duties, and monitor performance
- Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer issues promptly
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of the floor
- Coordinate with other departments (kitchen, warehouse, billing, etc.)
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
- Handle opening and closing procedures
- Train new employees and support team development
- Manage crowd control and ensure a positive customer experience
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Proven experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service roles
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Basic knowledge of POS systems like Square POS or Lightspeed POS
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role
- Knowledge of inventory management systems
- Industry-specific experience (retail, restaurant, cinema, hotel, etc.)
