Job Title: Safety Officer
Job Summary:
A Safety Officer is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. The role focuses on preventing workplace accidents, injuries, and hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure compliance with local safety laws, regulations, and company standards
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and prepare detailed reports
- Conduct safety inductions, training sessions, and awareness programs for employees
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation
- Coordinate emergency response plans, fire drills, and evacuation procedures
- Work closely with management and site teams to improve safety performance
- Ensure proper signage, safety equipment, and first-aid facilities are available
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certification preferred
- Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or industrial safety is an advantage

Working Conditions:
