📝 JOB DESCRIPTION – HEAVY MACHINE OPERATOR
🔧 Role Overview:
We are looking for experienced Heavy Machine Operators to operate construction machinery safely and efficiently on various construction projects in Malta. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
• Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other construction equipment
• Follow all safety regulations and company procedures at all times
• Perform daily inspection and routine maintenance of machinery
• Coordinate with site supervisors and construction teams to complete projects on schedule
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and blueprints
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and proper working condition
• Report equipment faults, damages, or safety concerns immediately
• Maintain daily operational logs and reports
• Ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently
🎯 Requirements:
✔ English communication is mandatory
✔ Must have pre-departure course certificate
✔ High school diploma or equivalent qualification
✔ Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy machinery
✔ Valid heavy equipment operator license
✔ Strong knowledge of safety standards and construction procedures
✔ Ability to read and understand construction plans and blueprints
✔ Good teamwork and communication skills
✔ Physically fit and able to work in different weather conditions
✔ Willing to work overtime and flexible shifts when required
💰 Salary & Benefits:
💶 Salary: €13.51 per hour
⏰ Working Hours: 40 hours per week (173.33 hours monthly)
💸 Overtime: Paid at 1.5x base rate
🎁 Bonus: €135 paid quarterly (March, June, September & December)
🏖 Paid Leave: 24 annual leave days + public holidays
🏥 Paid Sick Leave: Up to 13 days
📄 Contract Duration: 1 Year
🕒 Probation Period: 3 Months
