Job Summary
The Cloud Kitchen Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and packaging food orders for delivery-only operations. The role is responsible for maintaining food quality, following standardized recipes, ensuring hygiene compliance, and assisting senior chefs in achieving efficient kitchen production and timely order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications.
- Prepare ingredients, including washing, cutting, portioning, and storing food items.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and food production.
- Ensure all orders are prepared accurately and packaged according to company standards.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries according to food safety requirements.
- Minimize food waste and contribute to cost-control efforts.
- Work closely with kitchen and dispatch teams to ensure timely order preparation and delivery.
- Follow company policies, operational procedures, and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef, Kitchen Assistant, or similar role preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
- Basic organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary diploma, certificate, or relevant hospitality training.
- Experience in cloud kitchens, quick-service restaurants, catering, or food delivery operations.
- Food Safety and Hygiene Certification preferred.
