Job Summary
The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food and beverages from the kitchen to guests quickly and accurately while ensuring excellent service standards. The role supports smooth restaurant operations by coordinating between the kitchen and service staff, maintaining order accuracy, and assisting in table service when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately.
- Ensure orders match the correct table numbers and specifications before serving.
- Assist servers in setting and clearing tables during service.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and waiters to ensure smooth order flow.
- Check dishes for presentation, portion accuracy, and quality before serving.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas and stations.
- Support guests by fulfilling basic requests such as water, cutlery, or condiments.
- Help reset tables quickly to improve seating turnover.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and service standards at all times.
- Report any order issues, delays, or guest concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Assist in maintaining stock of service essentials (plates, cutlery, trays, etc.).
- Support overall front-of-house operations during peak hours.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent.
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, cafés, or catering services.
- Food Safety and Hygiene Certification preferred.
