Job Summary
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service by welcoming guests, taking food and beverage orders, serving meals, and ensuring a positive dining experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus and explain menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
- Answer customer questions regarding food ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens.
- Ensure guests receive prompt and courteous service throughout their visit.
Order Taking & Service
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely order preparation.
- Serve food and beverages according to established service standards.
- Check on guests during meals to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
Table Management
- Set up and clear tables before and after service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas.
- Refill beverages, condiments, and table supplies as needed.
- Prepare tables for the next guests promptly.
Billing & Payments
- Prepare and present bills to customers.
- Process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions accurately.
- Handle customer receipts and maintain accurate transaction records.
Health & Safety
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Adhere to company policies and health regulations.
- Report safety hazards or customer incidents to management immediately.
Team Support
- Collaborate with kitchen staff, hosts, bartenders, and fellow servers to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with opening and closing duties.
- Support special events, banquets, and catering services when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or customer service is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
