Job Summary
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service by welcoming guests, taking food and beverage orders, serving meals, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and effective communication to maintain high service standards and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus, explain menu items, and provide recommendations when requested.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly according to service standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to requests or concerns efficiently.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely order delivery.
- Prepare and set up dining areas before service and maintain cleanliness throughout shifts.
- Clear tables, reset seating areas, and assist with restaurant cleanliness.
- Process guest payments and provide accurate billing when required.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
- Upsell menu items, promotions, and special offers to enhance guest experience and sales.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.
- Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling payments and billing.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hospitality or customer service training is an advantage.
- Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant service procedures.
- Food Safety and Hygiene Certification preferred.
