Job Title: MEP Project Manager (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing)

Job Summary
The MEP Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities within construction projects. The role ensures that MEP works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Management
- Develop and implement MEP project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate MEP design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, and forecasting.
Design & Technical Coordination
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, structural engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and value engineering exercises to optimize project performance.
Site Supervision & Execution
- Oversee installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, and related systems.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor contractor performance.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to maintain project schedules.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Implement quality control procedures and conduct inspections.
- Review testing and commissioning activities for all MEP systems.
- Ensure proper documentation and handover procedures are completed.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Promote a strong safety culture on site.
- Ensure all MEP activities comply with HSE policies and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions when required.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding MEP-related matters.
- Prepare and present project progress reports.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical guidance.
- Manage client expectations and address project concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- 7–15 years of experience in MEP project management within construction, infrastructure, or building services projects.
- Proven experience managing large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems.
- Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software.
- Knowledge of local building regulations and international standards.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience with BIM platforms and coordination tools.
- Membership in relevant engineering or project management organizations.
- Experience in high-rise buildings, hospitals, airports, data centers, or large infrastructure projects.
