Job Summary
A Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects while ensuring delivery within scope, time, cost, and quality constraints. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, managing stakeholders, controlling risks, and ensuring successful completion of engineering, construction, EPC, IT, or infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Initiation
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and resource planning.
- Identify risks and prepare mitigation strategies.
Project Execution & Leadership
- Lead project teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and site teams.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Ensure effective coordination between all project disciplines.
- Drive project execution according to approved plans.
Schedule & Cost Control
- Monitor project progress against baseline schedules.
- Control project costs and ensure adherence to budget.
- Review performance indicators such as SPI and CPI.
- Manage delays, claims, and corrective actions.
Quality & Safety Management
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and project specifications.
- Enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies at all project stages.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and safety reviews.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables and defect-free execution.
Contract & Procurement Management
- Oversee procurement activities and vendor coordination.
- Review contracts, scope of work, and commercial terms.
- Manage subcontractors and supplier performance.
- Handle variations, claims, and contractual disputes.
Stakeholder Management
- Communicate with clients, consultants, and senior management.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and project reporting.
- Conduct regular project meetings and progress reviews.
- Ensure client satisfaction and project approvals.
Risk & Change Management
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Manage change requests and scope variations.
- Evaluate impact of changes on cost and schedule.
- Maintain risk registers and update regularly.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and milestone progress reports.
- Track project KPIs and performance metrics.
- Maintain project documentation and records.
- Ensure proper handover and project closure documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8–20+ years of experience in project management roles depending on project size.
- PMP or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Experience in EPC, construction, oil & gas, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
