Job Summary
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to guests by taking orders, serving meals and drinks, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and provide professional, friendly service.
- Escort guests to tables and provide menus when required.
- Explain menu items, daily specials, and beverage options to customers.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar teams.
- Serve food and drinks according to restaurant standards and service procedures.
- Ensure correct presentation, portioning, and quality of served items.
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and respond to requests.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and report issues to supervisors.
- Process bills, collect payments, and follow proper cash handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and service stations.
- Set up and clear tables before, during, and after service.
- Assist with table preparation, including cutlery, glassware, napkins, and condiments.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Support restaurant promotions, special events, and guest requests.
- Follow company service standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress, server, or in hospitality is preferred.
- Fresh candidates with good communication skills and willingness to learn may be considered.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of restaurant service techniques and guest handling.
- Ability to take orders accurately and operate POS systems.
- Understanding of menu items, ingredients, and basic food preparation methods.
- Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
- Ability to handle cash payments and billing procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple tables and tasks efficiently.
