Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, achieving sales targets, managing the store team, and ensuring an excellent customer shopping experience. The role involves supervising staff, maintaining operational standards, managing inventory, and assisting with the implementation of company policies and retail strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in managing daily store operations and achieving business objectives.
- Support the team in meeting sales targets and improving store performance.
- Supervise, motivate, and guide sales associates to deliver excellent customer service.
- Assist with staff scheduling, task allocation, attendance monitoring, and team coordination.
- Train and coach new employees on products, sales techniques, and company procedures.
- Ensure proper product presentation, visual merchandising, and brand standards are maintained.
- Monitor inventory, stock availability, replenishment, and stockroom organization.
- Assist with receiving shipments, stock transfers, returns, and inventory checks.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Support promotional activities, seasonal campaigns, and product launches.
- Monitor sales performance and provide feedback to the Store Manager.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining store cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance.
- Support cash handling procedures and POS operations when required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 2–4 years of retail experience, including experience in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Experience in fashion, mother & baby, kids, lifestyle, or specialty retail is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, sales processes, and customer service standards.
