Role Purpose
This is a hands-on, ownership-driven mandate — not a steady-state finance leadership role. The successful candidate will take handover from the outgoing finance lead, lead a structured historical clean up, and rebuild the department's systems, controls, and reporting from the ground up, ultimately establishing a finance function capable of operating independently.
Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory.
Experience:
- 8–15 years of progressive finance experience, with proven exposure to senior finance leadership (Head of Finance / Finance Director / Finance Controller).
- UAE market experience is mandatory.
- Background in manufacturing or retail is required; experience spanning both is a strong advantage.
- Prior experience leading historical account reconciliation, financial clean ups, or turnaround finance functions is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build finance teams and processes from a reactive/backlog state into a structured, scalable function.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong command of IFRS, UAE VAT, and UAE Corporate Tax regulations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and reconciliation tools.
- Strong costing and inventory management expertise in a manufacturing/retail context.
- High ownership mentality — comfortable operating without an established team or systems in place initially.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to supervise, train, and grow a small existing team.
- Knowledge of Emiratisation (Nafis) policy requirements and workforce planning implications.
