Project Manager — Job Description
Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and successfully delivering projects within the agreed scope, budget, quality standards, and timeline. The role involves managing teams, resources, stakeholders, risks, and project documentation from initiation through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
- Coordinate and manage project teams, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Assign responsibilities and ensure team members understand project requirements.
- Monitor project progress against agreed schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Identify potential risks, delays, issues, and dependencies and implement corrective actions.
- Manage project costs and ensure effective utilization of resources.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the project.
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide updates to management and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, schedules, and records.
- Ensure project activities comply with company policies, quality standards, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget through appropriate approval processes.
- Coordinate testing, inspections, handover, commissioning, or project closure activities as applicable.
- Monitor contractor and vendor performance and resolve operational issues.
- Ensure project risks and health, safety, and environmental requirements are properly managed.
- Prepare progress reports, presentations, and performance updates for management.
- Conduct project reviews and document lessons learned for future projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant project management experience, depending on project complexity.
- Proven experience managing projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and reporting.
- Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar software is an advantage.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or another recognized project management certification is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
