Job Summary
The Project Control Manager is responsible for managing project planning, scheduling, cost control, progress monitoring, reporting, and risk management activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. The role provides strategic oversight of project controls systems, supports decision-making, and ensures effective coordination between project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project control procedures, systems, and reporting frameworks.
- Manage project planning, scheduling, cost control, and performance monitoring activities.
- Review and approve project baseline schedules, budgets, and control plans.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and budgets.
- Identify delays, cost overruns, and project risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead project controls teams, including planners, cost engineers, and reporting specialists.
- Prepare and review weekly, monthly, and executive project performance reports.
- Conduct schedule analysis, critical path reviews, and recovery planning.
- Monitor project costs, commitments, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Perform earned value management (EVM) analysis and variance reporting.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams.
- Review contractor and subcontractor performance reports.
- Support preparation of claims, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and delay analysis.
- Ensure project documentation and reporting systems are maintained accurately.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and better project performance.
- Provide management with insights on project health, risks, and forecast outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10–15+ years of experience in project controls, planning, and cost management.
- Experience managing project controls for large-scale construction, infrastructure, EPC, or industrial projects.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, AACE, or Primavera certification are preferred.
