Position Overview:
The Assistant HR Manager supports the HR Director in managing the full spectrum of human resources functions for a large, diverse resort workforce. This role focuses on employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, and supporting recruitment and training initiatives to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Mediate and help resolve workplace issues fairly and in accordance with company policy and local labor laws.
- Performance Management: Assist in administering the performance appraisal process, providing guidance to managers, and supporting career development discussions.
- Policy & Compliance: Help implement and communicate HR policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all local employment laws and regulations.
- Recruitment Support: Manage the recruitment process for designated positions, including screening, interviewing, and coordinating hiring with department heads. Support onboarding/orientation programs.
- Training & Development: Coordinate and sometimes deliver training sessions on topics such as service standards, compliance, safety, and soft skills.
- HR Administration: Oversee accurate maintenance of employee records and HRIS data. Prepare HR reports and analytics on turnover, headcount, etc.
- Employee Engagement: Support the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and communication initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, preferably within the hospitality or service industry.
- Solid knowledge of employment law and HR best practices in the local jurisdiction.
- Strong interpersonal, counseling, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Discretion and ability to handle confidential information with utmost integrity.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in English and the local language is essential.
