Position Overview:
The Senior Application Specialist provides advanced functional support, configuration, and administration for critical enterprise business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS). This role serves as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams, focusing on optimizing application functionality, leading upgrades, and implementing enhancements to improve business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for one or more assigned enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Workday, Dynamics 365).
- Provide Tier 2/3 application support, investigating and resolving complex functional issues and user errors.
- Analyze business processes and collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements for application enhancements, configurations, and reports.
- Configure, customize, and maintain application modules, workflows, security roles, and user interfaces within the application's native tools.
- Develop and execute test plans (unit, integration, UAT) for patches, upgrades, and new functionality.
- Create and maintain detailed system documentation, process flows, training materials, and user guides.
- Lead small to medium-sized enhancement projects and coordinate with technical developers for required custom code or integrations.
- Train and mentor end-users and junior support staff on application functionality and best practices.
- Monitor application performance, identify trends in issues, and propose long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with vendors for issue resolution, roadmap discussions, and upgrade planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Required: 5+ years of experience in application support, analysis, or administration for a major enterprise software platform.
- Deep functional knowledge of specific application modules and business processes (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, HCM).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into application solutions.
- Proficient in application configuration and reporting tools native to the supported platform.
- Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL for querying application databases).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Project management or business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMP) certification is a plus.
