Cryo Technician
Job Title: Cryo Technician (Cryotherapy Technician) - Abu Dhabi

Reports To: Clinic Manager / Supervising Physician
Job Overview:
A Cryo Technician administers cryotherapy treatments under the supervision of a physician. Cryotherapy involves the use of extreme cold (typically liquid nitrogen) to destroy abnormal or diseased tissue, such as warts, skin tags, actinic keratosis, and some superficial skin cancers. In wellness settings, they may operate whole-body cryotherapy chambers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all cryotherapy equipment is clean, calibrated, and ready for use.
- Assist the physician in performing cryosurgical procedures on skin lesions.
- Safely handle and apply liquid nitrogen or nitrous oxide using spray devices, probes, or swabs.
- Provide pre- and post-treatment care instructions to patients.
- Monitor patients during and after the procedure for any adverse reactions.
- Maintain strict infection control and safety protocols when handling cryogenic agents.
- Accurately document procedures, treatment parameters, and patient responses.
- Manage inventory of cryogenic gases and medical supplies.
- For wellness cryotherapy: operate whole-body cryo chambers, conduct client screenings, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Educate clients/patients on the benefits, risks, and expected outcomes of treatment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certification from a recognized Cryotherapy training program. A background as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Esthetician is common.
- DHA/DoH certification or license is often required, depending on the clinical setting and scope of practice.
- Prior experience in a dermatology, aesthetic clinic, or sports medicine facility is preferred.
- Must understand skin anatomy, lesion types, and safety procedures for cryogenic materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, professional demeanor.
