Technical Engineer
Reports To: Technical Manager / Project Manager
Summary: The Technical Engineer provides specialized engineering support, focusing on design coordination, value engineering, and resolving complex technical challenges. They bridge the gap between the design office and site execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review design drawings and specifications for constructability, clashes, and potential improvements.
- Prepare and coordinate the submission of shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for client/consultant approval.
- Perform technical calculations and analyses as required for temporary works or design modifications.
- Liaise with consultants and subcontractors to resolve technical queries (RFIs).
- Research and propose alternative materials or construction methods for cost or time savings (value engineering).
- Assist in the planning of construction sequences, especially for complex structural elements.
- Support the QA/QC team in developing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality procedures.
- Stay updated on new construction technologies, materials, and standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- 3-7 years of experience in a technical office or design coordination role within construction.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS is a plus).
- Strong analytical and design understanding.
- Excellent written communication for preparing technical reports and submittals.
