Assistant Land Surveyor
Reports To: Land Surveyor / Senior Site Engineer
Summary: The Assistant Land Surveyor supports the Land Surveyor in all field and office duties, gaining practical experience in measurement, data collection, and site set-out operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in carrying out topographic surveys, leveling, and setting-out under supervision.
- Operate and hold surveying instruments (prism, leveling rod).
- Record field measurements accurately in survey books or data collectors.
- Help establish and maintain survey control points and benchmarks.
- Perform basic data reduction and plotting under guidance.
- Maintain cleanliness and safe storage of surveying equipment.
- Mark points on site as directed (using nails, paint, pins).
- Assist in preparing simple sketches and as-built records.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience; fresh graduates are often considered.
- Willingness to learn and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of surveying principles and mathematics.
- Careful and methodical approach to work.
