Contract Administrator
Location: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Sector: Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
Job Purpose:
To manage all contractual aspects of the project, protecting the company's interests and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of all project contracts. This role involves reviewing contract documents, managing correspondence, assessing claims and variations, and supporting the project team on contractual matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Review and administer main contract and subcontract agreements to ensure full compliance with terms, conditions, and scopes of work. Maintain a master contract file and ensure all parties are aware of their obligations .
- Correspondence & Notifications: Manage all formal contractual correspondence with clients, partners, and subcontractors. Prepare and issue timely notices as required by the contract (e.g., delays, variations).
- Variation & Claim Management: Assess and prepare variation orders, evaluating the impact on cost and schedule. Manage the submission and negotiation of extension of time (EOT) and cost claims, ensuring robust documentation to support the company's position .
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential contractual risks and liabilities. Work with legal and project teams to develop mitigation strategies and ensure contractually robust positions are maintained .
- Payment Applications: Review and certify subcontractor progress payments. Assist in preparing the main contract payment applications, ensuring all work is accurately quantified and documented .
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Law, or Construction Management. A Master's degree or specialized diploma in Contract Law is highly preferable .
- Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience in contract administration on large-scale infrastructure or EPC projects, specifically within the water/wastewater sector in KSA .
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC). Strong understanding of project management, procurement, and finance processes. Proficient in MS Office.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to resolve complex contractual issues .
