Job Title: Commissioning Engineer

Job Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and execute the testing and commissioning (T&C) of all mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring they are installed correctly, operate safely, and perform in accordance with the design intent and project specifications. This role is critical for a successful project handover .
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning Planning: Develop and manage detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for all process, mechanical, and electrical systems, including pumping stations, treatment units, and control systems .
- Execution & Coordination: Lead and coordinate all on-site testing and commissioning activities, working closely with the construction team, subcontractors, and the client's operations team. Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in sequence .
- System Verification: Witness and verify pre-commissioning checks (e.g., flushing, pressure testing, loop checks) and dynamic commissioning tests. Ensure all systems are functionally tested and performance parameters are achieved .
- Documentation & Handover: Record all test results and compile comprehensive commissioning dossiers, including test reports, certificates, and as-built documentation. Support the project team in the formal handover process to the client .
- Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose problems or shortcomings during the commissioning phase. Coordinate with the engineering and supplier teams to resolve technical issues and ensure plant performance meets requirements .
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering .
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in testing and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure. Experience with SCADA and automation systems is a strong plus .
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, control philosophies, and performance testing standards. Proficient in reading P&IDs and technical manuals.
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and coordination skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Effective communication skills for working with diverse teams
