Location: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Project Type: Potable Water Transmission and Distribution Networks / Wastewater Collection Systems.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Modeller to design and analyze water and wastewater networks. You will use advanced modeling software to simulate system behavior, optimize network design, and support the planning and operational strategies for large-scale infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Modeling: Build, calibrate, and run hydraulic models for water transmission mains, distribution networks, and sewage collection systems.
- Design Optimization: Analyze scenarios for steady-state and transient conditions (surge analysis). Optimize pipe sizing, pump selection, and reservoir storage to meet future demand (Master Planning).
- Technical Studies: Conduct fire flow analysis, water age/quality studies, and leakage analysis. For wastewater, perform rainfall infiltration analysis and CSO/SSO assessments.
- Reporting: Prepare technical reports outlining model assumptions, results, and recommendations for network reinforcement or expansion.
- Coordination: Work closely with the design team to integrate model outputs into CAD/GIS platforms.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (Master’s in Hydraulics/Water Engineering preferred).
- Experience:
- Senior: 10+ years of experience in hydraulic modeling for large utilities.
- Modeller: 4-7 years of relevant experience.
- Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Bentley WaterGEMS/WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks WS/ICM, or Mike Urban. Knowledge of surge analysis software (Hytran, Hammer) is a plus.
- Programming: Knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and scripting (Python) for automation is highly desirable.
