Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Infrastructure)
Location: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Project Type: Water & Wastewater Infrastructure (Networks, Pumping Stations, Reservoirs, Treatment Plants)
Job Purpose:
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for all commercial and contractual aspects of the project, ensuring cost control, accurate measurement, and adherence to contract terms. The role involves managing the budget, valuing completed work, and supporting the project team in all financial matters to ensure the project is delivered profitably and in compliance with client standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets and cash flow forecasts. Identify and mitigate potential cost risks.
- Measurement & Valuation: Conduct detailed quantity take-offs (MTO) from drawings and site measurements. Prepare interim payment applications and verify subcontractor invoices based on work completed.
- Contract Administration: Administer the conditions of contract (typically FIDIC), including the management of variations, extensions of time (EOT), and claims. Prepare and present necessary documentation to the client/PMC.
- Tender & Procurement Support: Prepare tender packages for subcontractors and suppliers, analyze bids, and provide commercial recommendations.
- Reporting: Prepare regular commercial reports, including cost reports, variance analysis, and financial projections for project management.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) with actual site work, managing the discrepancy register and ensuring all changes are documented.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically on infrastructure projects in KSA.
- Proven experience with water/wastewater projects and familiarity with client standards (e.g., NWC, SWCC, Aramco, SEC).
- Strong knowledge of contract law and experience with FIDIC contract suites.
- Proficiency in measurement software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX) and advanced Excel.
