Job Title: Document Controller
Location: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Project Type: Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
Job Purpose:
To manage and control all project documentation throughout its lifecycle. The Document Controller ensures the accurate, timely, and systematic flow of all correspondence, drawings, submittals, and reports between the project team, client, contractors, and other stakeholders, maintaining the integrity and traceability of the "Golden Thread" of information.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Management: Administer the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) such as Aconex, SharePoint, or Procore, ensuring all project participants are using it correctly.
- Document Control: Receive, register, review for completeness, and distribute all incoming documents (e.g., contractor submittals, shop drawings, material approvals, RFIs). Process and track all outgoing documents (e.g., site instructions, responses, transmittals).
- Version Control: Strictly manage document revisions, ensuring the latest approved versions are always available to site teams and that obsolete versions are removed from circulation.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all documentation complies with the project's Document Control Procedure and naming conventions. Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Reporting & Archiving: Generate regular status reports on document transmittals and reviews. Maintain the master document register and prepare final project handover documentation (dossiers) for the client.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in document control, specifically within the construction or engineering sector in KSA.
- Proven experience with EDMS platforms (Aconex experience is highly desirable).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
