About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commi 1 to join our dynamic kitchen team at a busy coffee shop in Arjan. The ideal candidate has a passion for food, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will support the senior chefs in daily operations and ensure that every dish leaving the kitchen meets our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist in the daily preparation of food items, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and prepared according to recipes and portion sizes.
- Kitchen Operations: Support senior chefs during service hours to ensure smooth and timely delivery of orders.
- Quality Control: Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation at all times.
- Hygiene & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations; maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work station throughout the shift.
- Stock Management: Ensure proper food storage and stock rotation following the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principle to minimize waste.
- Mise en Place: Ensure all necessary ingredients and equipment are prepared and in place before service begins.
- Opening & Closing: Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning schedules and end-of-day checklists.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Commi 1 or similar entry-level position in a professional kitchen (Coffee shop or hotel experience is a plus).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards.
- Personality: Ability to work efficiently under pressure, a strong team player, and a willingness to learn.
- Availability: Must be flexible to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Location: Preferably based in or able to commute to Arjan, Dubai.
