Barista / Waiter

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and energetic Barista/Waiter to join our team. This dual role requires a passion for coffee artistry combined with excellent front-of-house service skills. You will be responsible for crafting high-quality espresso-based beverages while also taking food and drink orders, serving guests, and maintaining the cleanliness of the cafe/restaurant area. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can seamlessly transition from behind the espresso machine to the dining floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Barista Duties (Approx. 60%):
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks (espresso, cappuccino, latte, flat white, etc.) consistently and to a high standard.
- Demonstrate latte art skills and knowledge of different brewing methods (e.g., pour-over, French press).
- Maintain and clean coffee equipment daily (espresso machine, grinders, steam wands).
- Monitor and rotate coffee bean stock, milk, and syrups, informing management when supplies are low.
- Educate guests on coffee origins and flavor profiles when requested.
- Waiter Duties (Approx. 40%):
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages to the table, ensuring all orders are complete and presented well.
- Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
- Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next guests.
- Process payments and operate the cash register.
- General Responsibilities:
- Set up the coffee station and dining area before service begins.
- Maintain a clean and inviting environment, including wiping tables, sweeping floors, and cleaning restrooms as needed.
- Assist with general stock-taking and receiving deliveries.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Work as part of a team to support colleagues during busy periods.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Barista (1+ year preferred) with strong coffee knowledge.
- Previous waiting or customer service experience in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-player mindset.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
