Job Title: MEP Engineer
Job Summary:
The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and supervision of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within construction projects. This role ensures that all MEP systems comply with design specifications, codes, safety standards, and client requirements, contributing to the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Planning:Develop and review MEP system designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Perform calculations for HVAC, electrical loads, plumbing systems, fire protection, and energy efficiency.
- Coordination:Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems into building designs.
- Resolve design conflicts and provide technical guidance during construction.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for material selection and procurement.
- Project Management:Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of MEP works.
- Assist in preparation of project schedules, cost estimates, and budgets.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Inspection & Supervision:Conduct site inspections to verify proper installation of MEP systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues.
- Prepare reports on project status, site observations, and testing results.
- Testing & Commissioning:Supervise testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
- Ensure systems operate efficiently and meet design specifications.
- Provide training and documentation to clients and end-users.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or relevant field).
- Proven experience in MEP design, coordination, and construction supervision.
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, local codes).
- Proficiency in design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM, ETAP, HAP).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
