Job Title: Assistant Electrical Engineer
Job Summary:
The Assistant Electrical Engineer supports the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems for construction or engineering projects. Working under the supervision of senior engineers, this role involves assisting with technical calculations, preparing drawings, and ensuring electrical works comply with safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Support:Assist in preparing electrical design calculations, layouts, and schematics.
- Support senior engineers in the development of power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
- Help ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Site Assistance & Supervision:Assist in inspecting electrical installations on-site to ensure proper execution.
- Support testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Help troubleshoot technical issues and provide practical solutions.
- Documentation & Reporting:Prepare and maintain drawings, reports, and documentation for projects.
- Assist in updating project progress reports and electrical equipment records.
- Maintain records of materials, equipment, and site activities.
- Coordination & Collaboration:Work closely with project engineers, architects, and contractors.
- Assist in coordinating electrical work with other disciplines like mechanical and civil.
- Support procurement by helping prepare material specifications and technical evaluations.
- Learning & Development:Stay updated with electrical codes, safety regulations, and new technologies.
- Participate in training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Continuously develop technical skills under the guidance of senior engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Technology.
- Some experience or internship in electrical design, installation, or site supervision is preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux) is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
