Job Title: Planning Engineer
Job Summary:
The Planning Engineer is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely completion of construction or engineering projects. This role involves coordinating with project teams, analyzing progress, and providing accurate reporting to support decision-making and resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Scheduling:Develop detailed project schedules using software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Define project milestones, critical paths, and resource allocation.
- Assist in project cost estimation and budgeting related to schedule planning.
- Monitoring & Progress Control:Track project progress against the baseline schedule.
- Identify delays, risks, and potential bottlenecks in project execution.
- Recommend corrective actions to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Coordination & Reporting:Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather progress data.
- Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Support project meetings with updates on schedule, resources, and potential risks.
- Documentation & Analysis:Maintain accurate records of schedules, work plans, and progress reports.
- Perform schedule analysis, including variance analysis and trend reporting.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, contracts, and client requirements.
- Support & Improvement:Assist in planning for manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives for better scheduling and project control.
- Provide training and guidance on planning tools and techniques to project teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Proven experience in project planning and scheduling for construction or engineering projects.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of construction methods, project management principles, and risk management.
