Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator specializing in joinery and interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting the commercial team in securing profitable projects. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for joinery and interior fit-out projects based on drawings, specifications, and BOQs
- Analyze tender documents, identify risks, and prepare clarifications
- Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing for materials, labor, and subcontract works
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Collaborate with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure cost-effective solutions
- Review project scope and value engineer where possible
- Maintain updated cost databases and historical project data
- Prepare tender submissions, including commercial and technical proposals
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients and consultants
- Monitor project costs and provide support during project execution if required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- 5–10+ years of experience in estimating, specifically in joinery and interior fit-out projects
- Strong knowledge of joinery materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel, CostX, PlanSwift)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on high-end commercial, retail, or hospitality fit-outs
- Familiarity with local market rates and supplier networks
