Job Title: Gate Dispatcher
Job Summary
The Gate Dispatcher is responsible for managing the flow of vehicles, personnel, and deliveries at entry and exit points of a facility. This role ensures efficient coordination, proper documentation, and adherence to security and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Gate Operations
- Monitor and control entry and exit of vehicles and visitors
- Verify documentation such as delivery notes, gate passes, and permits
- Ensure compliance with security and safety procedures
2. Dispatch Coordination
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments or vehicles
- Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and operations teams
- Schedule and track dispatch activities
3. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle movements and deliveries
- Record entry/exit times, cargo details, and driver information
- Prepare daily reports on gate and dispatch activities
4. Security & Safety
- Inspect vehicles and shipments when required
- Report any suspicious activity or discrepancies
- Ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations
5. Communication
- Act as a point of contact between drivers, security, and internal departments
- Provide directions and instructions to drivers and visitors
- Coordinate with warehouse or logistics teams for smooth operations
Skills & Qualifications
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping ability
- Basic knowledge of logistics and dispatch operations
- Ability to work under pressure and manage high traffic flow
- Familiarity with documentation and reporting procedures
- Basic computer skills (MS Office or similar systems)
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, security, or a similar role
- Experience in warehouse, transport, or industrial environments preferred
Work Environment
- Gatehouse, warehouse, factory, or logistics facility
- May require standing for long periods and outdoor work
- Shift-based role, including nights, weekends, and holidays
