Job Title: Electrical Technician
Job Summary:
An Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The role ensures all electrical works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults and breakdowns
- Install and maintain lighting systems, power distribution panels, and control systems
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems
- Ensure proper use of tools, materials, and safety equipment
- Monitor system performance and identify potential issues
- Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical installations
- Maintain work records, reports, and documentation
- Follow safety standards and ensure compliance with regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience as an Electrical Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and blueprints
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with electrical tools and testing instruments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in construction, industrial, or facility management environments
- Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage systems
- Familiarity with control panels, motors, and automation systems
- Safety certification (e.g., electrical safety training)
