Steward – Job Description
A Steward in Hospitality Management is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, restaurant, and work areas while supporting kitchen and service operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Clean dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work areas
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
- Dispose of garbage and maintain waste management procedures
- Assist kitchen staff with basic support tasks
- Ensure proper storage of cleaned items
- Follow hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards
- Refill cleaning supplies and report shortages
- Help maintain organized storage areas
- Support smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
Required Skills

Qualifications & Experience
- Previous stewarding or cleaning experience preferred
- Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards is an advantage
- No advanced qualification usually required

- Shift-based work including weekends and holidays
- Physically active role involving standing and lifting
