Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment. The role involves supporting project execution, ensuring efficient operation of machinery, improving system performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and equipment.
- Prepare technical drawings, 3D models, and engineering specifications.
- Perform calculations related to stress, load, thermal systems, and material selection.
- Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets performance standards.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams on project execution.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Review vendor drawings, technical documents, and equipment specifications.
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and execution activities.
- Optimize systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent).
- Understanding of materials, machine design, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC, piping, or industrial machinery (depending on industry).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and strong technical documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–6+ years of experience in mechanical design, maintenance, or project engineering.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, or industrial sectors is preferred.
- Professional certifications are an advantage.
