Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and improving industrial processes to ensure efficient production, cost-effectiveness, quality, and safety. The role focuses on analyzing workflows, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing improvements in manufacturing or production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize industrial processes and production workflows.
- Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Monitor production performance and ensure process stability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new processes or plant modifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support commissioning, start-up, and ramp-up of new processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis for process deviations and failures.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams for process innovation.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of chemical/process engineering principles.
- Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction engineering.
- Ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, etc. – preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of process safety management and quality systems.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and data analysis skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
- 2–6+ years of experience in industrial process engineering.
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, or chemical industries is preferred.
- Certifications in process safety or industrial engineering are an advantage.
