Job Summary
The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing goods and services required by the organization. The role ensures cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, supplier management, and compliance with company policies and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Issue purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with departments to forecast procurement needs.
- Ensure purchased materials meet required quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, and supplier databases.
- Track order status and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, damaged goods, or invoice discrepancies.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Work closely with finance, warehouse, and operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Prepare procurement reports and analyze purchasing trends.

Qualifications

- 1–5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
- Experience in relevant industry (construction, manufacturing, hospitality, etc.) is preferred.
- Certification in supply chain or procurement is an advantage.
