Job Title: IT Specialist
Job Summary:
The IT Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's information technology systems, networks, hardware, and software. The role ensures the efficient operation of IT infrastructure, provides technical support to users, implements security measures, and assists in the planning and deployment of technology solutions that support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system issues for end users.
- Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless networks, and internet connectivity.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, passwords, and access controls.
- Install software updates, security patches, and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Configure and support printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, firewalls, endpoint protection, and data security protocols.
- Maintain IT asset inventories, licenses, and technical documentation.
- Assist in the implementation of new IT systems, applications, and technology projects.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for technical support and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Train employees on IT systems, software applications, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance IT operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco (CCNA), or equivalent are an advantage.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network administration.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and cloud services.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and server administration.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple support requests.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
Preferred Competencies
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools and ticketing systems.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications and collaboration platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions
- Full-time position based in an office, site, or hybrid work environment.
- May require occasional travel to support remote offices or project sites.
- Availability to provide after-hours or on-call support for critical system issues and planned maintenance.
- Occasional lifting and installation of computer equipment, servers, and network devices may be required.
