Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing financial statements, managing month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. This role also supports budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and process improvements while providing guidance to junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory filings, and financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor cash flow and support treasury management activities.
- Review financial transactions for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and internal controls.
- Supervise and mentor junior accountants and support staff.
- Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Prepare management reports and financial dashboards for decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in financial reporting and general accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation.
- Experience with ERP systems or accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

- Experience working in manufacturing, retail, service, or multinational organizations is an advantage.
