Job Description: Store Helper – Warehouse
Job Summary
We are seeking a physically fit, reliable, and hardworking Store Helper – Warehouse to support daily warehouse and stores operations. The role will assist with receiving, loading and unloading, material handling, storage, picking, packing, stock movement, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Assist in receiving and unloading incoming materials and goods.
- Check quantities and condition of materials against delivery documents under supervision.
- Move and arrange materials in designated storage locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and delivery vehicles safely.
- Pick materials and products according to authorized requests or picking lists.
- Pack, label, and prepare materials for dispatch.
- Assist with internal movement and transfer of stock between warehouse locations.
- Ensure materials are stored safely and appropriately.
- Support stock counting, cycle counts, and physical inventory activities.
- Report damaged, missing, expired, or incorrectly stored materials to the Storekeeper or Supervisor.
Stores Support
- Assist the Storekeeper in maintaining accurate stock records.
- Help identify and organize materials according to item codes, descriptions, and locations.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices are followed where applicable.
- Assist in maintaining bin locations, labels, and storage areas.
- Support the segregation of damaged, returned, or rejected materials.
- Keep aisles, storage areas, loading areas, and workspaces clean and organized.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and instructions.
- Use material-handling equipment only when trained and authorized.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Handle materials carefully to prevent damage or injury.
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow workplace organization standards.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
General Support
- Assist warehouse staff during peak operational periods.
- Support dispatch and delivery preparation activities.
- Follow instructions from the Warehouse Supervisor or Storekeeper.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, and proper workplace conduct.
- Perform other warehouse and stores duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10th / 12th grade or equivalent; additional warehouse training is an advantage.
- 0–2 years of warehouse, stores, logistics, or material-handling experience preferred.
- Freshers may be considered for entry-level positions.
- Basic ability to read and understand labels, stock codes, and warehouse documents.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and moving materials as required.
