Job Title: Warehouse Watchman
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Watchman is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of warehouse premises, company assets, inventory, equipment, and personnel. The role involves monitoring access points, conducting security checks, preventing unauthorized entry, maintaining records, and reporting any suspicious activities or incidents to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control entry and exit of employees, visitors, vehicles, and suppliers.
- Ensure only authorized personnel have access to warehouse areas.
- Conduct regular patrols of warehouse premises, storage areas, loading zones, and surrounding facilities.
- Protect company property, inventory, equipment, and materials from theft, damage, or unauthorized use.
- Maintain visitor logs, vehicle movement records, and security reports.
- Verify delivery and dispatch documents when required.
- Monitor loading and unloading activities to prevent unauthorized removal of goods.
- Report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, security breaches, or incidents immediately.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security-related situations according to company procedures.
- Ensure warehouse gates, doors, and restricted areas are properly secured.
- Assist in fire prevention checks and ensure emergency exits remain accessible.
- Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and management regarding security matters.
- Maintain discipline and professionalism while interacting with employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Follow company security policies, safety procedures, and legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a security guard, watchman, or warehouse security personnel is preferred.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and security procedures.
- Ability to read and maintain basic security records and reports.
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
