Maintenance Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance, reliability, and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and facility systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, coordinating maintenance teams, and implementing improvements to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure machinery, equipment, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and facility assets operate safely and efficiently.
- Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate timely troubleshooting and repairs.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and checklists.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential failures before they result in unplanned downtime.
- Supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and service providers as required.
- Coordinate planned shutdowns, equipment servicing, repairs, and major maintenance activities.
- Review maintenance requirements, work orders, spare-parts needs, and equipment history.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, breakdowns, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement root-cause corrective actions.
- Coordinate with production, operations, engineering, procurement, and HSE teams to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
- Ensure adequate availability of critical spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials.
- Evaluate equipment condition and recommend repair, replacement, or upgrade requirements.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, modification, and maintenance of new equipment and systems.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable engineering standards, manufacturer recommendations, and company procedures.
- Implement and enforce safe maintenance practices, including lockout/tagout and permit-to-work procedures where applicable.
- Monitor maintenance costs, resource utilization, and contractor performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, energy efficiency, productivity, and maintenance processes.
- Prepare maintenance reports, KPI dashboards, and recommendations for management.
- Support internal audits, inspections, and compliance activities related to maintenance and safety.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, depending on the equipment and facility.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or in a similar maintenance/reliability role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or automation systems as applicable.
- Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Good knowledge of maintenance planning and work-order systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and team-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management/CMMS software.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial plants, facilities, utilities, construction, or engineering environments.
- Experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance and root-cause analysis.
- Experience managing maintenance contractors and service providers.
- Experience with predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration monitoring, thermography, or oil analysis is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and HSE management systems is preferred.
