About the Role:
Falcor Engineering is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Estimation Engineer specializing in Mechanical engineering for the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for onshore and offshore projects, often on a fast-track basis. This role is critical to our business development and project execution strategy, requiring a deep understanding of project scopes, cost analysis, and the specific demands of the regional market, particularly with ADNOC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical works, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for tenders and proposals.
- Scope Analysis: Thoroughly review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contracts to understand the complete project scope, identifying any potential risks or variations.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Solicit and analyze quotations from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- BOQ Preparation: Review and validate Bill of Quantities (BOQ), performing quantity take-offs from engineering drawings when necessary.
- Proposal Development: Compile all estimate components into a comprehensive and well-structured proposal, including technical clarifications and assumptions.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential commercial and technical risks in the project scope and factor them into the cost estimate.
- Fast-Track Project Expertise: Efficiently and accurately manage the estimation process for fast-track projects, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising on quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, project management, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between the estimate and project execution strategy.
- ADNOC Standards: Utilize in-depth knowledge of ADNOC procedures, standards, and technical requirements to ensure estimates are fully compliant.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 10 to 15 years of proven experience in cost estimation for mechanical systems within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Sector Knowledge: Must have a strong understanding of both onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Regional Experience: Previous experience working on projects in the UAE is essential.
- ADNOC Experience: A strong track record with ADNOC projects is a significant advantage and highly preferred.
- Fast-Track Projects: Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate estimates under tight deadlines for fast-track projects.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in estimation software and advanced MS Office (particularly Excel).
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, structures, and related installation processes.
- Solid understanding of project scheduling and its impact on cost.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
