Job Title: Safety Inspector

Report To: HSE Manager / Safety Engineer
Job Summary:
The Safety Inspector is responsible for monitoring site conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with company policy and local HSE regulations (e.g., Abu Dhabi EHSMS). This role involves conducting daily safety patrols, identifying hazards, and ensuring that all safety protocols are strictly followed by everyone on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily site inspections, safety audits, and hazard identification tours.
- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure its compliance.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure they are safe to use.
- Check scaffolding, ladders, and access equipment for safety.
- Inspect fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and other emergency equipment to ensure they are in place and serviceable.
- Identify unsafe acts and conditions, and immediately intervene to stop unsafe work.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions for new workers.
- Maintain safety inspection records, reports, and logs.
- Support the implementation of the project's HSE plan and emergency procedures.
- Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained throughout the site.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely) is a must.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Safety Inspector in the construction or industrial sector in the UAE.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, particularly Abu Dhabi EHSMS.
- Strong knowledge of permit-to-work systems (PTW) for hot work, confined space, etc.
- Ability to identify hazards and assess risks effectively.
- Excellent observation and reporting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to enforce rules firmly and fairly.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Hindi/Urdu is an advantage.
