Job Overview
The Thru-Tubing Field Specialist will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and technically sound execution of thru-tubing well intervention operations at the wellsite. You will handle specialized downhole tools and equipment, provide technical guidance to field crews, and ensure all activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of thru-tubing tools and equipment (e.g., coiled tubing, wireline, hydraulic workover units) during live well interventions.
- Lead field crews in rig-up, rig-down, pressure control, and job execution in compliance with company and client safety standards.
- Interpret job programs and provide real-time technical input to optimize operational performance and achieve well objectives.
- Conduct pre-job and post-job tool inspections, function tests, and maintenance.
- Accurately complete field tickets, job reports, equipment logs, and other documentation.
- Provide onsite training and mentorship to junior field personnel.
- Liaise directly with client representatives at the wellsite to ensure clear communication and alignment on job progress and results.
- Strictly adhere to all HSE policies and procedures, including conducting risk assessments (JSA/Toolbox Talks).
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on field experience in thru-tubing interventions within the oilfield services industry.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of coiled tubing, wireline, hydraulic workover, and downhole tool operations (e.g., milling, fishing, logging, perforation, zone isolation).
- Certifications:
- Valid IWCF/WellCap certification for well intervention pressure control.
- Offshore survival certificates (BOSIET/HUET) if required for offshore assignments.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure field environments.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting well schematics, job programs, and downhole data.
- Physically fit and able to work in remote locations on a rotational schedule (e.g., 28/28, 42/21).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical diploma or degree in Petroleum/Mechanical Engineering is a strong advantage.
