Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor specializing in SPIR management for a critical shutdown project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive cost management and validation of all spare parts, ensuring technical and commercial accuracy in interchangeability records to support efficient procurement, minimize downtime, and control project expenditure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, verification, and management of the Spare Parts Interchangeability Record (SPIR) database for all mechanical, instrumental, and electrical equipment.
- Liaise with engineering, maintenance, and procurement teams to validate part numbers, specifications, and cross-reference data from OEM manuals and historical records.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimation for all required spares and materials based on the shutdown work packs.
- Prepare and evaluate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost plans specific to spare parts procurement and inventory.
- Administer contracts, manage variations, and process interim valuations and final accounts related to material supply.
- Ensure all SPIR data aligns with SAP Master Data (Material Masters, BOMs) to facilitate seamless procurement via the SAP PM module.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through standardization and consolidation of spare parts.
- Provide commercial advice and risk analysis regarding spare parts longevity, lead times, and costs.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in Quantity Surveying, with at least 5 years focused on SPIR, materials management, or related functions within Petrochemical/Oil & Gas shutdowns or projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related commercial field.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert-level knowledge of SPIR processes and standards.
- High proficiency in SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Module for material search, requisitioning, and inventory management.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Personal Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet shutdown deadlines.
