Architectural Inspector
Location: Doha, Qatar
Project Type: Major Infrastructure, High-Rise Buildings, Mixed-Use Developments, or Stadiums (as applicable)
Reporting To: Senior Architectural Inspector / Construction Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure all architectural and finishing works are constructed with exceptional quality, precision, and aesthetic finish, fully adhering to the design intent, project specifications, and the highest standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect all architectural materials (cladding, stone, tiles, glass, ceilings, partitions, doors, windows, hardware) for compliance with approved samples and specifications prior to installation.
- Conduct daily inspections of all architectural works: masonry, blockwork, plastering, false ceilings, partition walls (drywall & wet), waterproofing, tiling, stone cladding, joinery, glass & glazing, and painting.
- Verify dimensional accuracy, alignment, levels, and plumb of all architectural elements against approved setting-out and design drawings.
- Ensure strict compliance with approved mock-ups and finish samples for all critical areas (e.g., lobby, facade, VIP areas).
- Inspect the installation of architectural specialties, signage, and furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) as per design.
- Identify and report on quality of workmanship, finish defects, and material flaws; manage the snagging/punch list process.
- Review and approve Method Statements, ITPs, and shop drawings for architectural packages.
- Coordinate with MEP inspectors to ensure proper integration of services within architectural elements (e.g., ceiling penetrations, outlet locations).
- Check compliance with accessibility codes and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, material approvals, and progress photographs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in architectural inspection on high-quality, luxury, or iconic building projects. Direct experience in Qatar is highly preferred.
- Exceptional eye for detail and deep understanding of high-end finishing standards and tolerances.
- Comprehensive knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and international best practices for architectural works.
- Proficiency in reading architectural drawings, interior design drawings, and finish schedules.
- Experience with façade systems (curtain wall, unitized panels) is a major advantage.
- Excellent command of English. Arabic is advantageous.
