Kitchen Commis
Location: Al Beiruti Qatar
Reports to: Chef de Partie / Sous Chef
Overview:
The Kitchen Commis is an entry-level culinary role designed for passionate individuals eager to learn and build a career. You will assist the CDPs in their sections, performing basic food preparation and kitchen duties to support the smooth running of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist with basic prep work such as washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, preparing herbs, and making simple sauces and dips.
- Station Support: Support the CDP on your assigned station with mise en place, maintaining stock levels, and cleaning during and after service.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure all work areas, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and stored properly. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Learning & Development: Learn and adhere to all recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards. Actively seek to improve your culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs.
Requirements:
- A passion for cooking and a strong desire to learn Lebanese/Middle Eastern cuisine.
- Culinary school graduate or relevant basic training is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Hardworking, reliable, and able to work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
- No prior professional experience required, but any kitchen exposure is beneficial.
